To rinse accessories

Water

Cloth

Very easy

Step 1

Take a cloth and water.
Sea air is good for your health. But it’s not the same for accessories.

Step 2

Wipe each of your product's accessories and zippers with clear water, one by one.
Desperate situations call for drastic remedies : you can completely rinse the product with a jet of water.

⚠️ Afterwards, be careful to nourish the leather and re-wax the waxed canvas.
⚠️ Do not dry your bag in the sun! UV rays burn the skin and it’s the same with your backpack’s leather. In the sun, it will tend to dry, discolour and stiffen.

To clean the oxidisation

Water

Cloth

Vinegar

Very easy

Step 1

Oxidisation will not damage the accessory or make it less resistant. It is only an aesthetic question. To remove this oxidised layer, take a cloth and some vinegar.

Step 2

Gently wipe the accessory with a cloth soaked with vinegar. The green deposit will disappear and the eyelet will be like new again.

⚠️ Cleaning with vinegar too often or too intensely could remove the brass coating and damage the accessory.

To grease the zippers

Very easy

Step 1

Take your Alaskan Maker wax bar. This product contains wax, an ideal material to unjam zippers.

Step 2

Rub the wax bar inside and outside the teeth of your zipper.

Step 3

To remove wax residues, you can heat the material with a hairdryer. The wax will melt and soak the canvas. Once your zipper is greased, it will slide like it did the first day.
